went to the beach with the boys after my interview & intensive 'training' session with JellyBabey *thanx, darling!* it was a very happy day for me coz i got my Nikon SLR D60 *woohoo~~~* and I GOT THE JOB! thanx mum& dad *hugs* and thanx hazel, for believing in me XD...and thank God for planning such a beautiful day for me~

a trip to see the lion

was in the lion city a couple of weeks back, just to have a short holiday *kuching can be a bit dull after a while* it was SUPPOSED to be an educational trip coz i marked all the interesting buildings & sites just to update myself in the world of architecture...BUT i ended up going to so many places unrelated to work...hehehe

went to Bugis Junction for some street shopping ;) bought tops n a dress at bugis street n when we were walking back i saw the sign Malay Street n checked that out. it used to be a real road before it was closed off, air conditioned & became a street mall of sorts. it's really bright n sunny yet cool at the same time, i loved it! n the stalls are really cute, it's just a great place to hangout on a saturday afternoon~

mum & i stayed with Aunty Mei Ling since she knew all the great places to eat & shop =D apparently she stays in a more upscale community in singapore coz i thought all the condos look like hers but turns out most people stay in HDB flats *government subsidised property* n her place was build by a private developer. the architect did a great job with the landscape, water features are placed all around the condo compound n they have a pagoda for small gatherings & 3 teppanyaki stations next to the pool together with gym & jacuzzi!...but i forgot to take pics inside her unit...hehe...oh, in the 2nd pic is the showhouse unit with a spa at the top of the building n really modern, sleek furniture. it's for sale for S$1.8million *_____*

headed over to Night Safari with a family friend, it was pretty much the same as when i had been there a few years back. except now they have a fire dance thingy by the Thumbuakar tribe from the forests of Borneo...which apparently includes a ngajat dance by Orang Ulu & Iban dancers *??!!* so weird...i did manage to take a *very blurred* picture of pink flamingos during the tram ride, hope u can see it >.<

flood, flood, FLOOD!!!

found out the area near my house *actually, the alternative route to my place* is FLOODED!
the house i used to stay in got filled with water up to the knees T___________T
so people, stay away from Stapok Road *the one that connects to green road* because SkyGarden, Star Garden & Dream Garden is flooded =(

my kampung is flooded too, though not very serious. only a few houses on the lower areas were affected. thank God babei's house wasn't affected *his house is on top of a hill* and it became sort of a refugee camp...hehehe...parents & other relatives went to kampung today to send food to the victims, the youngest of whom is a 3-month old baby boy *awwww~~~*

hope all the flood victims are strong and calm in getting through their situation. i flipped through the Almanac & guess what? King Tides are expected throughout the year *the beginning & middle of every month*

on a lighter note, went to Sushi King with chary & grace today ;) at first was at KFC but there was so many people there we decided to move location. Sushi King is currently having a
japanese curry promotion *drool~*

i tried the soup curry rice, it was yummy!!! y'all should head there & try it out. chary wasn't very happy coz they ran out of sake *salmon sushi, i think* but grace had her agedashi fix & was a happy camper

celebrated 1st of january at kampung for ''buka pegong'' which basically means draining of the fish pond =) my dad's family had a little gathering & barbeque at ''camp david'', hehehe...i'm lazy to explain everything but here are some shots i took from the car on the way...we used jalan puncak borneo to get to camp david but on the way back we used the mundai road that connects to the kuching-serian highway...it's about 45minutes drive from kuching but the road is smooth & it was an enjoyable ride!

i just got back from the BEST birthday dinner ever! hehehe, i know it's not officially my birthday yet, but we celebrated early coz greg&karen are heading back to KL today =( there were 10 of us:- my family, karen, chary, tiara, alisya & wendy ^.^ we headed to Oregano (the original plan was to go to Coca Thai Steamboat but it sounded a bit boring to just dip your food in the same soup the whole night, hehehe) and i'm still stuffed! our end of the table (the girls & i) ordered 3 types of salads for sharing and *greedy as we are* had heavy mains, wine & ice crushes...phew! workout for our tummies...hehehe...

my family usually celebrates x'mas eve at my granda's place in kuching. this year, almost everyone was present. liza came back from adelaide, aunty doris' family from kl, aunty linda's family from miri, even diane & her husband took some time out to join us =D only one family couldn't make it, uncle albert's...they had to go back to his wife's longhouse for x'mas this year *.* anywho~ we had a fun time, LOTS OF FOOD!!! turkey was delicious *s'wak club makes good turkey* and lots of fine wine...hehehe

then after dinner everyone helped themselves to booze...HEHEHEH...although a few people did go to church *midnight service* and they boys *this time with unce joe in tow* went to play a few rounds of pool in town....

late post again ;) started on the x'mas tree a few weeks ago *it's actually still a work-in-progress* and usually it's quite fun but this year the atmosphere was quite subdued...probably due to the post-semester fatigue *?!?!?!* chary came over to help & we managed to get most of it done *in between extremely unhealthy snacking n movie marathons :p* so yeah, here are some of the photos i took...

so i was out last night with agan & chary...apparently it was agan's 'stag night' ;) hahahaha...coz the mrs n coral are due to arrive in 24hours. went to gary's place 1st, had some mee *courtesy of chary, yum yum* watched some tv...chill~~

headed to ruai apai for some beer & found out that KTK tutup! not sure whether it's permanent or not tho, hehehe...neway, there was boy nik, afif, gary, noel, agan, chary & me *yes, the only girl* place was packed with regulars ^.^ good business ah, uncle? met loadsa peeps there too...hehehe...we continued on with tuak and in between, babi panggang *yum yum! i think we had around 6 plates*

ok, the point of this post is to tell y'all that there are some really great friends left on this planet *rare, but they're there!* agan was totally wasted around 2.30am and chary totally took care of him. rubbing his back, finding water, adjusting seats, you name it, he did it...on the way home, we had to make 3 puke stops and finally reached home at 4am. chary didnt even complain! OMG i'm so impressed...truth to be told, i wouldn't be as patient or kind if i were in the situation...hehehe *hey, i'm being honest*

i'm glad that great friends like that still exist, to make sure their friend is taken care of in time of need *and not abandon them* and i felt really happy knowing that =D

i hope everyone gets a chance to know & love great friends in their lives, i know i appreciate all my gurls who have been there for me through thick & thin *hugs, loves~* and also my chary...hehehe...

last day of exam today, can't say i did well....i think most of the classmates were struggling as well (what do you expect, it's building construction 251!) but at least everyone got through it in one piece ^.^

went out for a quick *and extremely lazy* lunch with alisya at our fav spot...bing! XD dished out new info to each other *seems like i havent seen the girl in forever!* i accidentally ordered the wrong thing tho...wanted a panini, bambini came out of my mouth =( but damn delicious nonetheless~~

we got talking, and both of us realized that it's been weeks since we went window shopping at spring, so we headed there for a quick fix...much dissapointment as clothes were all 'FALL' collection *dull & boring* but some cute items cropped up here and there ^.^ went to charles&keith where the shoes were all so HARD ...macam batu...the high waisted belts were HUGE *people who buy them are just...weird* went to PADINI, saw someone *bleh* i so desperately wanna shop *sob sob* but so far have spent rm400 on model stuf *seriously, who would know human figures & fake greenery would cost so much???* if only i were an only child...hehehe, no need to share expenditure...

so after the afternoon out, i've loads of motivation to start working on my model *think SBG's Symphony Lake* about the inspiration...it's definitely coming! wish me luck =D

HALLOWEEN came, and so we went out but no one had the slightest intention to dress up, it was supposed to be a casual night out. wendy had some devil ears on, coz she was working the whole day (had to wear 'em?)

on raya day, the plan was to head out to the beach, get a lil tan (yea'know, look nice and healthy) and then head out visiting...but guess wad happened???

it freakin rained! wad a wet wet raya day....look at the sky, look how they rain for you~ =.=
so, being all dissapointed and after spending much moolah on fries (oh, the boredness!) we headed back to kch...went home, had a hot shower and got ready to visit one of my bitches...hehehe!

tiara came back from UTP (thank god!) we miss her loads~~ and so we headed to her house pretty late, around 9pm...neway, her mum made this pandan drink (absolutely delicious!) n this was made BY HAND, PEOPLE! she started making the drink at 1am and finished around 5am...aunty so rajin~

the second day of raya went by without much enthusiasm *or transportation* for me BUT evonne's b'day was coming up! nyeheheheh...got her a pair of golden hook earrings (forgot to take a pic of it) but yeah, it's gorgeous and FITS HER! yay...

kesian the b'day girl tho, she had to do her own cooking, bought her own cake and even light up the candles herself...what happen to good ol relaxing during your b'day??? neway, she's a good girl...hehehehe...no complains~

this is a lil late, but last friday my mum's family celebrated my grandma's 80th bithday *yay, nenek!* so we had a birthday bash held for her in Hilton. 300 of her closest family and friends were invited and we had lotsa food and drinks *wink wink*

That's not the best part, tho...i was really really extremely happy that my bro and his gf came back from KL just for the event *miss them loads* and my own bf came that nite too! hehehe...plus all my cousins were there...can't wait for the next get together~

i get really frustrated and pissed off when do everything in your power to genuinely help someone and they DON'T EVEN REALIZE that they should acknowledge you help and treat you a bit nicely.
BUT NO~ they make plans and change plans as they wish, without even asking or discussing with you (even though you're part of that 'plan'). sucks to know people like that still exist.

know what, next time you wanna do something, DON'T even bother looking my way. i help you celebrate the best time of your life, i help your boyfriend when he's broke just so that he can pay for you (coz you're demanding that way), i even pay for his most of his petrol! bet you didn't know that.

lantern fest is here =D totally the first time i'm participating in the festival (y'know, lighting up the lanterns and all that) thanks to ANGEL...LoL~

was really really fun and cool, even the weather was perfect. lotsa people gathered at the Friendship Park to light up their lanterns and hang them up on willow trees (absolutely beautiful). there was even a small fireworks show, yay!

had quite an interesting sunday this week...helped out with the college fashion show at spring (i became their CHEAP labour, while the models earned good cash and freebies!!!!) seriously, you'd think they would appreciate having someone to boss around backstage to open their zips and buckles and damn buttons, but obviously they DON'T...good thing it was a very relaxed show (unlike the previous shows, where it was a mad rush and the models were hyperventilating - kept screaming 'FASTER, FASTER!!)

this is a really cool table lamp, i think the way the transparent pieces are scattered around together with the solid pieces makes it look chic =)

most people *in kuching* might already know where this lamp can be found...hehehe, it's an OPEN secret~

i used this picture for my design project and i hope that i'll be able to come up with a great concept, theme and building from my interpretations of this object. phew!
